We think that Cape Town has some of the best beaches in the world.

You can choose beaches which are on the Indian Ocean, with warm water, or those on the colder Atlantic Ocean. Neither coast is very distant from the other, so travelling between the two is easy by road or rail.

Most of the beaches, which stretch around the coastline are long with white sand. On some of the beaches like Muizenberg you’ll find lifeguards, so they are safe to surf from.

Sure, it’s hot in Florida in the middle of July. But I live in Baltimore . . . it’s hot here too in the middle of July! So, what better time to head to a beach…especially one that wouldn’t be as crowded in high summer as the closer Maryland beaches where everyone heads “down-y ocean,” as they say in this part of the world.

Quite naturally, one of the primary reasons the Bahamas have attracted visitors from all over the world is the abundance of beautiful beaches. Grand Bahama Island certainly has its share of these remarkable beaches, and as a beach vacation destination, this island rates as one of the best.
